Mission: Into The Delta Triangle
Location: Kessik III

As she closed the door behind her, Meka turned around, finding herself staring directly into the face of Linz. She cast an easy grin and shrugged out of her jacket. "I don't hear any sounds of protest. Did you stun them again already?" she asked, her voice taking on a light and teasing tone.

Linza was still letting the words of one of the captors sit in her mind. Was Meka really not her friend? But, she couldn't let anything show. "Nah, but they know I will if they act up. And, they can't get out of the restraints this time as it is."

"I don't know about you but I'd absolutely kill for a coffee!" She walked along a hall, talking easily as she moved. "Yelkim said to tell you hello, he'll fence the stuff and he'll send the usual notification when the latinum is ready. I'm gonna head back into the market in a bit, I want to still keep an eye out for your Klingon friend."

"Yelkim takes his sweet damned time on things though. Likely won't get much out of them to be honest, not out here." Lin leaned against a wall and crossed her arms. "Haven't you had enough coffee today, Meka?" She raised an eyebrow at the last part of the statement. "An eye out for who?"

"One can never have enough coffee," Meka replied with a laugh. "Your Klingon friend? The one from the market? The disruptors?" Meka narrowed her eyes slightly. "You okay Linz? You seem kinda out of it."

Lin rolled her eyes, "Yeah, I'm fine. Just making sure we were on the same page. And if I want to sleep at all any time soon, no coffee for me. Doubt you find anything out about the disruptors either. With Starfleet here, he probably booked it."

"Maybe, maybe not," Meka shrugged slightly. "We'll see. So, what do you want to do with them? I mean, we can't keep them, though, the male one is kinda cute, he'd make a nice housepet, don't you think?"

"Seriously? That's what you're thinking about?" Lin pushed up off the wall and went over to a panel to check on a few things. "You do know that Starfleet will come after missing crew if their own crew mates don't come after them first, right?"

Meka turned around to face Lin, a small laugh escaping. "You mean you wouldn't like the Bolian? I mean, we've all heard what Bolians are like, maybe she'll light up your life," Meka winked and followed Lin to the panel. "And Starfleet might come looking, doesn't mean they'll find them."

"No, just no, on the Bolian." Linza sighed and turned to Meka. "What happened to going out after the Klingon? You sure seem to be hovering."

"What's gotten into you?" Meka demanded, a hint of annoyance in her tone. "You're being a bit of a bitch tonight. Wanna tell me what's going on? Or are you gonna sulk while I'm out instead?"

Lin glared at Meka. "I'm fine. I could ask you the same question." She didn't stand down. "By the way? I think at least one of them in there is a telepath of some kind. I didn't bother obviously figuring out what species they were."

"I don't know what your problem is, but you need to get over it," Meka replied quietly. "We have too much riding on this for you to start carrying on now." With a shake of her head, she reached for her jacket again, pulling it up over on arm. "I'm going out for a while. I'll get coffee while I'm out."

"Fine, you do that then." Lin made sure she could see Meka out the corner of her eye but went back to the panel. "By the way? Might just want to watch yourself. Could be more of their team out there and they could have seen you dealing with the ones we have." She was now more on edge. Meka didn't get this way, so why was she this way now?

"I'll be back later," Meka muttered as she pulled her jacket on properly and turned around. "Don't wait up."

Lin scoffed. "When do I ever wait up? Besides, I have people to watch, I'll be up, but not waiting for you."

Without responding, Meka walked out, unable to help the feeling of guilt that came over her. Regardless, she had come to think about Linz as a friend, but a job was a job, and if she didn't step up, she'd be stuck in this hell hole forever. Not even friends made that worthwhile.
