Is there a Doctor

Mission:
Enforced Intermission
Location: ICS Tantamount
Arriving via Transmat was never a fun feeling, and for some reason travelling via Ts'usugi Transmat didn't sit well. If it was a physical trip, one could describe it as a bumpy ride, though no actual physical travel occurred. Maybe it was just the difference in social structure that led up to the discovery. Maybe it was the anxiety of the trip. Though, none of that really mattered at the current. All that mattered was that the crew was safe and was being tended to.
A Ts'usugi male, dressed in something that resembled the universal constant of medical scrubs, was making his rounds along with two nurse assistants. The three gentlemen were going bunk to bunk, cot to cot, blanket to blanket, to make sure everyone was in good spirits and good health. One of the roaming Ts'usugi around the cargo bay caught their attention and informed them of a newly arrived priority: A seriously injured crewmember and an actual doctor from the Astraea.
With haste, the group travelled to Roger's side, and looked at the nearby collection of Federation members, "My name is Jeng. I'm the head of the medical department on the Tantamount, and the director of wellness and health." he started. "I can imagine who my critical patient is, though I've been informed the Astraea's doctor is near?"
"Start stabilizing him, please." he instructed one of his assistants, who opened up a case and started to scan Rogers with something that resembled a medical tricorder, except it was more round...
Shuffling through several crew members, Calvin walked up to Jeng. "Calvin Morgan, Doctor of the Astraea, or formerly at this point," the last thought lingering in his mind and in the air for a moment. "I have the crew's medical records," He said tapping his bag without pausing, "And can help out in whatever way needed."
The Son of Ts'usu gave Calvin a nod, "Excellent. We've got plenty of data on baseline Terran anatomy, but some of the divergent members of the crew we're a little at a lack to treat, should the need arise. Fortunately the brunt of the injuries seem to be minor. The remainder, however..." and he turned to look at Rogers, "He appears baseline Terran, but our scans show different. We can continue treatment, but I'd much prefer a consult with you in the matter. Or if you feel more comfortable treating him yourself, we can provide the means and leave him in your continued care."
Buck remained quiet, laid on what he suspected was the Ts'usugi version of a biobed. It felt uncomfortable. His body didn't feel right. Not that he had the training to put a finger on why. The issue of his tampered tissues raised its head and Buck wondered what the Ts'usugi take on genetic engineering was. Would they be hostile as a certain Klingon had?
"Baseline Terran at one point yes, but not so much now. Interesting conversation of history and medicine for another day," Calvin replied after turning to look at Rogers. "I'd be happy to oversee his case. I am unfamiliar with your equipment though, so help would be appreciated." He knelt down next to him. "What did you do to yourself now?" Calvin asked, a hint of poking fun mixed with concern.
"I'll leave you in Nurse Yuin's care, I'll stop by to check in once I've made the rounds." Jeng responded, leaving Calvin in the company of one of the assistant nurses.
Yuin gave a nod, "Fabricator in the bay is set to prioritize medical supplies. Mobile is on pleasantries and sundries. Tell me what you need and you'll have it. I can't assure designer meds immediately, but the basics we've worked to be compatible with your biology. Anything specific would need to be tailored. I can assist with that." The case that the nurse carried seemed to have most of the basic medical equipment in it, just designed by an aesthetic not entirely human.
"Helm blew." Buck explained to his friend. "Listen, Doc, I don't think my insurance covers out of state facilities."
Calvin chuckled. "You're still off mentally, good to see you're still baseline there. ED visits are usually covered out of state, so you should be fine there. If not, I'm sure we can weasel you a decent price." He began running the tricorder around him. "How's the pain?"
"Pretty bad." The reply was kept short. "Hurts to do lots."
Yuin gave a nod as the two bantered. Bedside manner, familiarity, humor. This must be a regular patient of his, Yuin considered. He remained silent, but nearby. A presence, if the term could be used as such. "Looks like you two know each other pretty well." he offered. "We were initially going to offer an anesthetic for his discomfort, but with how his internals and his biology read, the standard dosage wasn't even going to register. We were concerned about crossing the line from comfortably numb to coma." he explained. "Where would you like to begin?"
Calvin set the tricorder down, opting to rummage through his bag for a moment. Finding the right PaDD, he did some quick research. Pulling another PaDD out he began a list of blood product and medication he needed, handing it to Yuin. "Listed in the PaDD are the medications I will require for him, with molecular formula incase your computers don't have it. I'll also need a Cellular micro-suture and Osteogenic stimulator to stabilize him. We'll need to do surgery at some point, but I think stabilization for now might be our best bet." Calvin picked up the Tricorder again and scanned a second time. "Yes, I think we can stabilize. Oh," He stopped, looking back at his new companion. "Do you have versions of those? I can pull up schematics if needed."
Yuin took the PaDD and gave it a once over, "Yes Doctor." he said at the notion of fabrication of supplies. At the question of tools, he thought for a moment to consider the functions. "Yes, though if the Osteogenic Stimulator has a function similar to what I think it is, it'll have to be slightly recalibrated. Your bones and our bones are structured slightly differently. A quick scan of his bone structure, or your own if they're the same, will recalibrate the device, Doctor." he opened up his case and produced two medical tools. "Nano Suture actuator, and Osteocalcimic Reconstructor. I'll return shortly with your supplies Doctor."
With that, Yuin scampered.
Calvin picked up and looked over the two tools quickly, setting down the suture device as it seemed to not need much in the way of calibration. As for the osteocalcimic reconstructor, he sat down next to Rogers with a PaDD open to begin tweaking the settings with what information he had. "Want a drink?" Calvin asked, glancing up at Rogers as he worked.
"It's really that bad, huh?" Buck asked, turning away from where he'd been watching the goings on in the sickbay and regarding the doctor. "I could use a beer." He paused. "Times like this I wish I'd understood what they did to me."
“You and me both. Ah well. No beer, but I do have bourbon,” Calvin pulled a fifth out of his bag and placed it next to Buck. Finishing his recalibration of the device, he looked back at him. “Take your swig and lay back. I’ll need some time with you being still. New toy, who knows how this will go.”
Buck took a generous hit from the bottle. The burn form the liquid hardly registered. "Let's get this over with."
Yuin returned with a rolling tray, containing a few hyposprays with the required pharmaceuticals, cocktails specified by the doctor, tailored as required. "As requested Doctor." the nurse offered, "There was a small queue at the fabricator. These are part of the system now, so getting more from here out won't be as long a wait."
If the Ts'usugi noticed the passed bottle, he didn't mention it. Medical discretion and such.
"Thank you," Calvin said to Yuin. Calvin rooted through the hyposprays and equipment, rearranging them to his liking. A little OCD never hurt minor operations he mused to himself. Adjusting Buck as he laid down to an optimum angle, he injected metered doses of several hyposprays before picking up the osteocalcimic reconstructor. "Yuin, please come around to the other side and help with the settings while we reset these bones," Calvin instructed as calmly as asking for sugar in his tea. His other hand worked the tricorder as he watched vitals.
"Yes Doctor." Yuin replied, coming around as requested to assist. Yuin's calm matched that of Calvin's. If the doctor wasn't panicking, why should he?
After a lot of mumbling between Yuin and Calvin, which included several moments of intense mumbling of profanity, Calvin leaned back and began turning off the equipment after giving Buck another scan with the Tricorder. "You aren't running any marathons today, but I think you'll be good to go soon enough," Calvin said.
Yuin gave a nod, satisfied. "We'll have you back to your Federation as soon as possible, but I concur. He'll be up and moving shortly, and we can doublecheck the treatment once everything has a chance to settle."
"If we're alright here, sir, I'll return to my rounds. Hold onto the instruments until the patient's treatment is to your satisfaction." the nurse smirked.
“Oh definitely, please do Yuin. I will check in with your staff shortly to see what help you need with the rest of the crew,” Calvin replied.
"Thank you Doctor. It was good working with you." and with a nod, Yuin took his leave.
