Thoughts and....coffee?

Mission: Enforced Intermission
Location: Lin's Quarters

It wasn't freedom, but it was as close as she likely was going to get it. Linza had been able to get 'out' and stretch her legs. Most of the crew that didn't know the background story of what had happened were not fond of the little bit of freedom that she had, but she also knew that this was coming.

The fact that the captain had given her quarters and as much ability to move around the ship as she had made Lin not feel like a prisoner. However, it had given her a lot to think about. Mostly: her past.

"Computer, hot coffee with a touch of french vanilla cream and sugar." She stated to the replicator as she read over a PADD where she'd been writing her thoughts down. After the normal hum, she reached for the mug that normally would have appeared. Instead, her hand met a tall glass filled with an odd green colored liquid.

Tilting her head to the side, she set the PADD down and looked over the glass without touching it. "I didn't order this..." she whispered as she pressed the button on the console, allowing the drink to vanish. "Computer, verify last item requested on the screen." Exactly what she had ordered is what appeared. With a heavy sigh, "Computer, repeat last order."

The familiar hum returned, this time producing a mug of coffee that looked like it was what she wanted. Waiting a moment, she finally reached out for it and took a sip. "Something is going on...but at least it is coffee." She eyed the replicator. "But not vanilla and there is no sugar." Shaking her head, she picked up the PADD again and went to sit down.

"There are reasons I like my coffee a little sweet," Linza said out loud to no one, as no one was there. But, it was early, and it was something. She'd put in a maintenance request about it later if it kept acting up. At this moment, she wanted to go back to her original thoughts.

So much of her past had been her own fault. Between losing ranks, and then her commission, stealing what she did from Starfleet, trusting someone who had their own agenda in mind because she was blind to what was happening...all her fault. Once they reached Earth, she knew she was in the hands of Command, and she didn't want to know the list of charges against her from when she left all that time ago.

However, she did appreciate that the captain hadn't left her in the hands of the authorities on Kessik. Though good at their job, as she'd learned when she first got there, they had overly harsh punishments. Meka, if still alive, likely wasn't going to be much longer. At least here, she had another chance, somewhat.

In the blink of an eye, the PADD in her hands went blank. "Oh hell.." she mumbled, reactivating it. It was as if nothing had ever been added. Swearing in a few languages, she got up, leaving her unsweetened coffee behind, and went to the console she had, glad she made a backup of the file, though it wasn't fully updated. Letting out a sigh of relief that it was still there, she found herself collapsing into the desk chair.

"There is something going on here," she again stated out loud to no one. "Maybe this is a sign I just need to go and do a workout or something."

Instead, Linza just sat there, staring at the wall behind the desk for a moment before submitting the malfunctions report to operations. She wasn't sure if it was just her or if someone had messed with her things because they were unhappy with her. Hoping it wasn't the latter one, she went to go grab a few things before heading for a workout. At least with that, she could relive a little stress.
