Their temporary accommodations on the planet were definitely gorgeous. Given that they had plenty of time before the ship had an even tentatively scheduled departure date, the decision had been made to spend at least some of the time on the planet relaxing.

Dropping her bags onto a bed that seemed almost Dalacari in size, Shaille headed directly for the window, pulling open the drapes and looking out. "Koh!" she exclaimed suddenly, turning around and casting a teasing grin in his direction. "Look! There's a view!"

Koh followed suit, dropping his duffle and a travel bag on the floor near the bed. At the exclamation he turned, relaxing a bit as the rest of the thought became voiced. "There certainly is." he teased before moving over to stand next to her. Hands gently resting on her shoulders, he gave a smirk as he looked out the window with her, cheek to cheek. "I have to admit, your people certainly do know how to relax."

"I'm afraid it's not as lazy as the Dalacari homeworlds, not a drone in sight. We need to schlep for ourselves here," Shaille smiled and covered one of his hands with hers, her other hand moving to his other cheek, fingertips splaying gently over his soft fur as they continued to admire the view. "Do you want to stay in tonight? Maybe order room service and watch a movie?"

He gave her a smirk, "A little personal touch to manual labor never hurt anyone." he commented, and then leaned gently into her hand. "I think that sounds like a marvelous idea. Good food, good entertainment... Good company." his smirk became a smile.

"Nervous about the new posting?" he asked, his hollow glance still peeking outside at the magnificent view.

"Not as nervous as I thought I'd be," she exhaled slowly, content with the moment. "I'm just glad we got posted together. Did you let your family know you got here safely? I sent a message to my folks earlier to let them know I was back in the Alpha Quadrant again."

He gave a short nod, not wanting to threaten his posture against her cheek. "Sent the message as soon as we left the Dark. Between your network and ours I'm honestly curious who got the message first." he chuckled.

"I'll get a reply in a week or so. Internal Security has to scrub the hell out of any comms coming out from the home system. Mostly a formality." he assured. "But, I'm very glad we didn't get split apart. I'd have to learn how to send you messages, and your consoles hurt because sometimes I press the screen too hard." he 'complained', with a silly smirk.

"We're closer to your home moon... I mean, world, now. Going to arrange some time to see it?"

"My brother, Noah, he and his wife are on the Appalachia with their family. They're not far from here at all so I'm hoping they'll have time to come see us before we depart." She smiled, closing her eyes for the briefest of moments. "But I would like to find time to get to Earth at some point as well. It'll be nice to see my parents and the rest of my family and to share them with you."

Koh gave a smirk, "Now, I've been reading a bit. Appalachia, those are mountains. Beautiful ones, that I've only seen in pictures. I'd like very much to see Earth. To walk on it, to breath its air." his smirk widened, "To see is moon. You know, a planet really isn't complete without a moon." he teased.

"But, on a serious note, I'd very much like to meet your family, if you think they're ready to meet me."

"Appalachia is also a ship, A Sovereign class to be exact. They're currently taking part in some major diplomatic event not too far away from here. But if you want to go to Earth, we can arrange that, we should have enough time to do the trip before we depart?" Her voice trailed away as she turned to face him, both her hands resting on his cheeks as she smiled at him. "I think my family will love you, just as I do," she said softly. "But I should warn you, the kids will love you the most. I'm pretty sure Maddie and Chloe have convinced them all that you're the Easter Bunny."

"Such fascinating names for ship classes. Sovereign. Galaxy. Constitution. A ruler, what they rule, and how they govern." he teased. "We don't have such pretty names in the Navy. Just numerical types. The ship that brought us here, the IDF Lunar Shallows, is a Class Four Cruiser."

As she turned serious, as her hands held his face in place, he smirked, "I'm great with kids, and yes, I've read the Terran Holiday primer. Well, the important parts anyway. Something something cotton tail." he chuckled. "Now, the smart thing to do would be to inform the children of the mix up, and that they were misinformed." he paused, "However, I can't break a kid's heart. So maybe there was a mix up in the paperwork, and the Easter Bunny showed up a bit early." he smirked a goofy smirk, which turned into a full smile.

Shaille smiled before rising up onto her toes, brushing a soft kiss across his cheek. "Just one of the things I love about you," she said warmly. "You might pretend to be a big tough fighter pilot but really you're just a softie at heart... flyboy-blinker-seventy-four," she added at the end teasingly.

He smiled, he leaned, and then he rolled his eyes.

"I really gotta change that." he muttered, but took it in stride. He really was just a big softie.

"It's for the kids." he clarified. Then he blinked, "Hey, what do you mean 'pretend' to be tough." he chuckled.

"It's okay," Shaille replied with a soft smile as she look into his eyes. "I won't tell anyone, I promise."
