Something strong

Lucy walked into the bar. She'd just arrived onboard the ship with her squadron, and was having some much needed downtime. She walked over to the bar and took a seat at the far end, quite far away from everyone else. She motioned to the bar ladiy that she was ready to order.
Ashe was acutely aware of the presence of Lucy from the moment the doors parted, just as she was aware of the presence of every other patron in her bar. "Hold that thought darlin'," she said with a smile, touching her hand on the arm of young Ensign she was talking to before sidling away toward Lucy. "So what can I get you?"
"Whatever you've got that's strong..." She said, trying to force a smile.
"Well, in that case, I recommend Lieutenant Hamilton over there from Engineering," Ashe replied indicating subtly toward a dark haired young Lieutenant Junior Grade sitting at a table with a few friends, still dressed in his gold collared uniform.
"Though if you're looking for the more liquid variety that comes with fewer regrets, then I've got all your favourites in a bottle, just tell me what strikes your fancy." Ashe grinned as she leaned on the bar, watching Lucy intently.
“Double rum and coke?” She asked, with a small smile still on her face. She was extremely tired after the long journey to the ship.
"Sure a double's gonna be enough? Hate to tell you this darlin', but you look like I need a drink!" Ashe shot back with a shake of her head. "How about I add an energy shot into it for you? Might give you a bit of a pick me up?"
"That'd be good...thank you...sorry I didn't catch your name." She said, giving a proper smile, and looking at the bar tender properly for the first time.
It was barely a moment later that the rainbow haired bartender returned, setting a glass of rum and coke on the bar in front of Lucy. "Call me Ashe... and you are?"
“Thanks.” Lucy said, taking a sip of the drink. “I’m Lucy, wing leader for the fighters...we got here a few hours ago.” She answered.
"Ah, yes, I thought I'd heard a whisper that we'd picked up a last minute contingent of fighters. So, are any of them real cute?" Ashe asked with a grin, leaning on the bar conspiratorially.
Lucy laughed a little to loudly. “A few of them are quite cute.” She admitted, smiling. “But most of them are more interested in their fighters than us ladies.” She said.
Ashe laughed and shook her head. "Well, maybe once they settle in then we'll start seeing more of them around these parts. I'm sure there's a few ladies popping in and out that can turn their heads. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm not that way inclined at all, I like my lovers very very male... but damn some of the girlies I've seen in and out of here are babes!"
Lucy smiled. "Yeah, but it'll take alot to distract them...sometimes I think they're married to their fighters, the way they talk to them!" She laughed again as she finished her drink.
"Oh please, can you tell me you don't baby yours?" Ashe asked. "Come on, what's it's name?"
“Not as much as they do theirs! She’s called Hunter...same as my callsign.” She answered, trying to hide a smile. “Don’t laugh!” She said, trying to stop laughing herself.
"Not laughing at all," Ashe said, holding her hands up with a perfectly straight face. "Not laughing at all. I mean, I've heard worse names... Can't think of any off the top of my head, but I'm sure I've heard them," she winked, pulling away from the bar and laughing. "Just messin' with you. Want another drink?"
Lucy nodded, still smiling. "Please, the same again." The drink had definitely helped to wake her up, but she could already feel the effect starting to wear off again.
Pouring the second drink, Ashe set it in front of Lucy before clearing away the empty glass. "There you go, but after this I'm gonna have to cut you off. The last thing I want is you passed out over my bar your first night on the ship, even if it is just from fatigue and not inebriation. I want to keep in Security's good graces at least a little while longer."
“Awww but where’s the fun in that?” She asked, pouting. “I bet some of them are cute to!” She giggled.
"Oh, no doubt, but not the kind of cute you want to meet by waking up in the brig on your first day on the job now is it?" Ashe replied easily.
"True...very true. So what do you guys do for fun around here then?" She asked, smiling.
"I'll tell you when we've worked that out," Ashe replied with a smile. "I've not been here for long myself, only just came aboard a few days ago."
"Oh, ok." Lucy said, finishing her second drink. "Well, if you ever need someone to do something on the holodeck with, hit me up. I'm down to do pretty much anything so." She said, opening the offer of friendship.
"Sure," Ashe repled with an easy smile. "Though my hours are usually kind of chaotic, but sure, I can definitely make some time."
"Good, because I hardly know anyone on here, apart from the people from my fighter wing, so it'll be nice to have a familiar face around here!" She said smiling. "Anyway, I should probably go and get some shut eye before i'm back on duty again." She said. "Thanks for the drinks, and the conversation."
"Any time, you know where to find me," Ashe said as she cleared away the glass and wiped down the bar where Lucy had been sitting. "Sweet dreams kiddo."
