Mission: New Beginnings
Location: Sickbay

Calvin had gotten lost several times on his way to his new sickbay. He hadn’t served onboard something so large since he was last stationed at a Starbase he guessed. When the doors were finally in front of him he stopped for a moment to compose himself. The corridors had been mostly empty. They weren’t required to arrive for another day so a lot of crew hadn’t come onboard yet.

He swallowed once before stepping close enough to activate the doors. It would be another pause before he actually stepped into his new Sickbay. The dimmed lights increased their luminescence giving him a better view of the atrium as he almost shuffled. The room looked, and smelt, so sterile. It reminded him of ripping open a brand new package. He started to relax for a little as he made it past the offices into the med surg area.

He sniffed again, catching a weird odor. “What is that?” He asked the room, sniffing a little harder. It smelt like, flesh? He looked around, his adrenaline starting to pump. Someone must be hurt, a shorted console? He moved quickly from bed to bed, jumping from area to area. He could hear the cries of someone now, the smell getting stronger.

Moving to another room, he could feel the heat of burning on his face. He looked for the source but couldn't find it on any of the pristine consoles that had never seen a patient yet. Calvin couldn't find the source of the screaming, or the smell either. His anxiety kept going up, one notch at a time, adrenaline pumping hard through his body.

Without cause, all of the sensory inputs began to fade. Calvin began to realize that it was all an illusion. A ghost of the past. With that he realized he didn't know where in sickbay he was now, a much bigger one than his old home. He slunk down against a bio bed, his eyes watering but not shedding many tears. He was lost in his home.
