The sound started pervading Ashe's dreams. It was loud and annoyingly persistant, definitely something that commanded attention. She stirred, her hand reaching for Aleksi, but instead it fell on empty sheets. Bolting upright in the bed, she pulled the covers up with one hand, the other had started reaching for the disruptor that had been left on the nightstand but she stopped, leaving the weapon there as she slid out of bed and started toward the bedroom door to find out what was going on in the main living area.

"Cyka," Aleksi had quickly removed the burnt blins from the stovetop and was waving a cutting board at the smoke sensor, praying that it would stop soon otherwise his guest would wake up. He looked over and saw a lovely young woman pointing a weapon at him. He offered an awkward grin, "I guess there goes breakfast in bed."

"Awwww, you cooked for me?" Ashe asked with a teasing smile. walking across to the replicator she ordered a couple of items before heading back into the small kitchen portion of his quarters, dragging the table across a few feet until it was directly positioned under the environmental sensors. "I'll show you a trick," she said, taking the cutting board from him and climbing first onto a chair and then onto the table.

Waving the cutting board below the environmental sensor to clear the air she grabbed the sheet of plastic wrap she had replicated and used it to cover the sensor before pulling the hair elastic from her hair and using that to secure the plastic. Within seconds the alarming sound had stopped and Ashe looked down at him with a grin. "Voila!" she said brightly. "Magic!"

"I'm trying at least," Aleksi's face beamed, she seemed to be doing much better since last night's incident. It was that sort of strength the made her absolutely gorgeous. Disposing of the burnt food he grabbed a new pan, at least he could make eggs and bacon. Breakfast wasn't his forte, he could make a fantastic blanquette or a tender swordfish but never breakfast, "At least I won't be putting the chef out of business."

"That's probably a good thing," Ashe replied as she walked across, stepping up next to him. "If you even tried you'd be the one they haul out in a body bag. I mean, I know you've got skills, but I've heard about him. His name is legend in many Klingon circles. Now, what can I do to help?"

"I have a timer going off in about three minutes. When that goes off if you could grab the sharlotka out of the oven," He laid out strips of bacon on one pan, cracking a few eggs and laying out tomatoes in the other. At this point he was determined to make her something edible, lest she find herself a better looking man who didn't have two left feet. Stepping aside he smirked, "In the mean time, you are in charge of the bacon."

With a smile, Ashe took over cooking the breakfast, turning the bacon while she waited for the sharlotka timer to go off. There wasn't much to do, and this was something she was actually quite good at.

With a bit more breathing room he started on the fried eggs. There was something soothing about it, whether it was the simplicity or the company he wasn't entirely sure. As he was nearing completion the toast was ready. Killing the heat, he laid out the toast and set a tomatoes on top, placing an egg on each. After sprinkling the salt and pepper he stepped away, smiling triumphantly, "Ta-da! Now we add the bacon and we have a real feast."

Ashe laughed as she picked up a plate and carried it to the table. "You know, make a habit of this and I might have to start waking up here a bit more often," she replied with a grin as she sank into a seat. "Just... you know, without the events of last night to have to deal with first." She grew quiet for a moment before she forced a smile back onto her face and looked across at him. "Thank you for breakfast."

"For you kotyonok, I'd attempt to burn down the kitchen everyday. Though I can't promise it will always be breakfast," He smiled at her warmly, a genuineness to his tone. He'd do a lot more than that, but that was something she didn't need to hear at the moment, "Drinks! Do you prefer yours leaded or unleaded?"

"Surprise me," Ashe replied with a smile, breaking a piece of bacon off her plate with her fingers and popping it into her mouth, watching him as he moved about.

As soon as his back was turned, she reached across and nabbed a strip of bacon from his plate, holding it between her fingers and biting into it before looking away, attempting to feign innocence.

He looked down at his plate, one piece of bacon clearly shorter than the others, and looked up with a playful scowl. Something snarky was going to cross his lips when the timer went over, "Saved by the bell."

Making the universal I'm keeping my eyes on you gesture he went to the oven, gently pulling out a Russian Apple Cake, the sharlotka. Dusting the cake with powdered sugar he returned to the table with two glasses of orange juice, which may or may not have contained vodka, "If you behave you may get some cake," He smirked, "Or depending on how you misbehave, you may get a bigger slice."

"Oh, I don't just want a bigger piece," Ashe replied, brazenly reaching out and swiping another piece of bacon from his plate instead of eating her own. "I want ALL the cake."
