Mission: Sounds of Silence
Location: Security Offices
Timeline: Backpost

BACKPOST: PRIOR TO MERIA

Amanda walked out into the security offices and looked around. She was trying to find someone from Security. The Chief had been gone all day with other Security issues on the ship, but she wanted to try and put faces to names on the manifest. She walked upto the office and looked in to see if anyone was there. Seeing a figure through the frosted glass, she tapped on the door.

At the sound of the tapping on the glass, Shaille jumped before spinning around on her heel, finding herself face to face, albeit through the hazy frosted glass, with a marine. She recognised the uniform. With her hand over her heart she took a deep breath, offered a smile and motioned for the other woman to enter. "Sorry," Shaille offered as the doors parted. "I wasn't expecting anyone, it's been so quiet in here that I'd gotten used to the silence. The noise startled me."

"No, no I apologise, I didn't mean to scare you Lieutenant." She said as she walked into the room. "I'm Captain Foxwell, the Marine CO, just thought i'd come and say hello, put a face to a name, the usual new ship stuff." She said, smiling broadly.

"Lieutenant Junior Grade Shaille Levine," the security officer replied with a smile, holding out her hand. "I've just transferred back from the Delta Quadrant. It's nice to be back among familiar space again," she added with a chuckle.

"I've heard alot about the Delta Quadrant. Did you enjoy your time there?" She asked, intrigued to hear about the sector, as she'd never had the opportunity to go out that far.

"It was..." Shaille paused. "Interesting? i guess that's as good a word as any?" She laughed. "I enjoyed being there, for the most part those we encoutered were nice, and it was definitely interesting seeing the way some of them live, and I can honestly say I'm glad to be back in familiar space again."

"I'd love to be out there, one day...I've never had the chance though, unfortunately. Anyway, I just thought i'd try and get to know some of the officers in the Security Department. So, tell me Lieutenant, what is your role here?" She asked.

"I'm just a lackey," Shaille replied easily. "Stock standard Security officer here to do whatever the big boss tells me." She smiled. "I can say with complete honesty that I know nothing more than that. I only met the Chief yesterday."

"I'm sure that's not true. I'm sure you have a speciality in something? Or something you prefer to do?" She asked, smiling.

"So long as it doesn't involve people threatening to cut off my head, then I'm good with anything," Shaille replied with a grin. "I don't mind really, all aspects of Security are interesting and usually keep me on my toes. I mean, honestly, you have no idea how alive you are until you spend two hours helping a small child track down a lost toy." She rolled her eyes slightly and laughed.

"Oh don't even get me started! Been there, done that, got the t shirt!" She replied. "I spent some time as private Security." She answered.

"I don't mind it most of the time, it's interesting, no two days are ever the same, and it usually gives me plenty of interesting stories to share with Koh when I get home after my shift is over."

"I never really had anyone to share it with, originally had my daughter, but I dunno where she is now." She said, looking sadly down at the floor.

"I'm sure you'll find her soon," Shaille said softly. "Why don't you send me through her details? I can see if I can find something out about her for you when I'm on duty properly?"

"I'd appreciate that, thank you." Amanda nodded, smiling a little. "Her names Lucy. Lucy Foxwell, although she may have changed that name..." She said.

"Send it through to me on data and I'll see what I can find out," Shaille said with a smile. "I can ask around for you as well."

Amanda nodded again. "Thank you. Really..." She replied. "And if there's anything at all I can do for you just let me know!" She offered.

Shaille shrugged slightly and offered one last smile. "That's what friends are for."
