Physical Description Seth is tall, but not overly unusually so. Standing at 6’3” he can be picked out in a crowd pretty easily. He’d be the first to admit that he needs to lose a few pounds, especially around his waist, but he wouldn’t be considered overweight. He has a round head and has a healthy head of brown coloured hair. He has some stubble that he likes to keep on the shorter side, but the length completely depends on how busy he is to shave. Seth often tilts his head to one side when he is thinking about something, or is lost in thought.

Personality & Traits

General Overview Seth has needed to overcome some challenges in his life to get to where he is today. He’s had some help along the way from some kind hearted colleagues, but for the most part he can be proud that his accomplishments have been his own. Working his way through the Academy and through the early years of his Starfleet career has been incredibly rewarding for him, and he hopes to continue to advance his career with time and plenty of hard work.
Strengths & Weaknesses Strengths:
Has excellent engineering skills
He a keen mind, and a keen intellect.
Has exemplary problem solving skills.

Weaknesses:
Sometimes misses the easiest social prompts.
Can be short-tempered at times, though this is usually centred around any frustration he may have at that time.
Ambitions Seth feels that with plenty of hard work he can achieve anything. With this in mind, he would like to advance in his career to Chief Engineer at some point. Following that he would relish the opportunity to take the Starfleet Bridge Officer examination to allow him to advance into command positions when the time comes.
Hobbies & Interests Seth has very fond memories of helping out at his uncle’s workshop. These memories never fail calm Seth’s mind when he feels stressed or overwhelmed. As a way of making these memories tangible, Seth has faithfully recreated his uncle’s workshop via a holodeck programme. He spends much of his time in this holodeck programme, tinkering with and fixing various equipment.

Personal History Seth was born on June 19th 2367 in Nottingham UK, to parents Nicholas and Amber Richards. Seth grew up as an only child.

Schooling
Seth did well in his schooling. He didn’t really make friends very easily, so decided from a young age that he would throw himself into his studies. He would often spend time at his uncle’s workshop helping to fix equipment. He found solace and a calmness within himself when he spent time at the workshop and spent most of his spare time there. He felt almost uncomfortable being around people when he felt particularly stressed or anxious about something.

Starfleet Academy
The natural progression for Seth when it came to Starfleet Academy, was pursuing a career in engineering. Similar to his school years he found Academy work to be reasonably straight forward and achieved average grades, but found it hard to mix and gel with his fellow students. It was at this time that he found out that he had autistic personality traits. Feeling pretty relieved to finally have some answers as to why he found it so hard to engage with people, Seth graduated from Starfleet Academy and was assigned to the USS Fontana as a warp core technician.

USS Fontana
In 2391 he was promoted Lieutenant Junior Grade after two years of meticulous work onboard Fontana. His superior officer at the time, Lieutenant Commander Joanne Sharpe, took the young officer under her wing and helped to mould his natural engineering talents. After a further two years Seth decided that he needed a change of scenery to assist in advancing in his career, and successfully transferred to the USS Copenhagen as warp propulsion specialist.

USS Copenhagen
Onboard Copenhagen he had to taken on fresh responsibilities along with his general duties. Although not reflected in his position’s title, Seth found himself in charge of a team of engineers. Although the team wasn’t terribly large (seven junior members and crewmen of the engineering department), he realised that he enjoyed the responsibility that came with his new role. After only nine months of being onboard Copenhagen, he sought the approval of his superior officer to begin applying for assistant Chief Engineer positions. Whilst he understood that he had only been an officer for five years, he felt that he was ready to take yet another step up in responsibility. His superior officer agreed and helped Seth with his applications (and always giving him a glowing reference).

USS Astraea
After another couple of months of waiting for replies, Seth finally got the reply he was hoping for. The Odyssey class USS Astraea was the jewel in the crown of Task Force 37, and he had received transfer orders to join them as Assistant Chief Engineering Officer.
